Nursery Term Funding Planner
This calendar explains how government-funded childcare hours are allocated throughout the academic year at Walmgate Day Nursery. Because school terms don’t match the 12.67 funded weeks per term, we adjust the allocation to make sure your child has access to the maximum possible funded sessions.
Important Funding Note
This planner only applies to families using term-time funding (38 weeks of funding per year).
If you’ve chosen to stretch your funding across the full year (51 weeks):
- 15 funded hours = approx. 11 hours per week
- 30 funded hours = approx. 22 hours per week
The stretched funding model works differently and is not shown in this calendar. If you’re unsure which funding model you’re on or how it affects your childcare costs, please get in touch – we’re always happy to help.

How Funding Works
- The government provides 12.67 funded weeks per term.
- Autumn → Typically longer than funded allocation.
- Spring → Shorter than allocated funding.
- Summer → Slightly longer than funding.
- Unused Spring funding is moved into Autumn to reduce shortfalls.

Out of Funding Attendance outside funded allocation – fees apply
Adjusted* Funding moved from Spring to cover Autumn days
Important Notes
- This term planner applies only to those on term time (38 week) funding.
- The nursery is closed on bank holidays and 25th Dec – 31st Dec.
- If your child leaves mid-year, they may have used more funding than allocated. Please provide proper notice so we can manage this fairly.
- Additional nursery hours beyond funded allocations will be invoiced separately.
- Days marked Adjusted* show where funding has been reallocated to cover longer terms.
